#MSEBigThankYou Campaign

On Monday 14 December we’re launching the MSE festive Big Thank You and we want you and your colleagues to get involved!
We have designed the campaign around the five ways to wellbeing which include giving, learning, taking a mindful moment, getting active and connecting. Download the festive thank you toolkit below.
Other community activity will include kindness boxes being delivered by volunteers to care homes in mid and south Essex with goodies in for residents including Twiddle Muffs for residents with Dementia.
Schools will also be encouraged to send cards to care homes/sing carols virtually and send videos. Rainbows, Brownies and Girl Guide groups will also be getting involved in making special angels and cards to spread some cheer. We are also linking with local yarn bombers to decorate post boxes/town centres with knitted key workers.
On 24 December at 6pm we will be asking everyone to come outside and light a candle or ring a bell or doorbell for two minutes to spread some festive cheer. We want to create some magic for people young and old, as well as celebrating health and care staff, volunteers and communities with a message of hope for everyone.
We’ll also be using social media to share our “thank yous” far and wide.
If you’re sending a thank you message, please also send it to meccg.mse.thankyou@nhs.net as we would love to see some of the special messages you are sending and track how many are sent during the campaign.
Resources for the festive campaign
We want families to get crafty and make an angel, star or other decoration that represents someone who has been a hero to you during 2020.
This could be a nurse, a carer, a teacher, a leader from a youth organisation or it could be a neighbour who helped you and your family during lockdown.

Original Big Thank You Content
On Monday 5 October we launched the MSE Big Thank You Week and we asked you and your colleagues to get involved!
With so much happening over the last year due to the Coronavirus pandemic (and still more to do) we asked our colleagues to take a moment to say those all-important “thank you’s” we sometimes don’t have the time to say.
It’s a simple and easy means of recognition as well as going a long way to giving that sometimes much needed morale boost. To celebrate the behaviours and ‘little touches’ that mean so much and to reflect upon people going that extra mile for one another, we encouraged colleagues to send an e-card, a printed card or a text message to their fellow colleagues.
Download all the original content below. Don’t forget to get involved in the Festive thank you starting 14th December.
